Last week I revealed my daughter's AUDREY ROOM.
One of the fun DIY Projects that we did together was the metal memory board to collect all of her keepsakes...because, well, she's a bit of a hoarder. Did I say that out loud?
Well, the hoarding may run in the family, because I've been saving the crib spring from my kiddo's crib for a few years now. I've seen crib springs used as decor before and loved the idea, but it always seemed a little to blah or industrial for me, I guess. And the crib spring that I had wasn't even a cool silver looking one...it was brown.
AND THEN, I thought, "GOLD SPRAY PAINT".
And that changed everything!
I was so excited about finally using the crib spring for a memory
board once I realized it could be gold.
I used one can of Krylon Short Cuts.
This Krylon Gold Foil paint is the perfect gold spray paint. I have a hard time finding it in larger cans, for some reason.
I just started to spray back and forth, and up and down, following the lines of the grid.
It took like 5 minutes.
And it dried in no time.
The gold finish was a bit brassy, not too shiny...just how I wanted it!
And then I got to have a bit of fun shoving all the stuff into the grid.
I found some flashy, little gold clothes pins and went to town.
{That's me, trying not to be in the picture ;) }
XXXOOO,
This is such a cute idea!!!! Love the gold, too!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going to copy this if/when I find the paint!
