Pinned It & Did It: M&M Pudding Cookies!

Are you like me? Always pinning amazing recipes and sort of forgetting about them? I'm on a quest to actually make some of the recipes I've pinned on my Pinterest cooking board "STIR IT UP".
My kids have been begging me to bake cookies for them this week...Grandpa's Banana Bread didn't cut it the other day, poor Grandpa... and they've been wanting me to make something "yummy and different" so I thought I'd try my hand at these M&M Pudding Cookies from Six Sister's Stuff. Ever since I had my first Pudding Cookie (chocolate chip at my friend Chelsea's house) I knew I HAD TO MAKE PUDDING COOKIES FOR EVER MORE.  I had never even heard of putting instant pudding mix into cookie batter. (That's PUTTING instant PUDDING mix in cookie batter- not PUDDING instant PUDDING mix in cookie batter, HA!). Have you? Either way, enter my taste kitchen....I PINNED IT & DID IT!
M&M pudding cookies 2
via Six Stister's Stuff
and my attempt!!!
My kids stamp of approval : "THESE TASTE LIKE BAKERY COOKIES"!

My stamp of approval: super yummy, best served with a glass of cold milk!
There is something about adding the instant pudding mix that makes the cookies crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! DON'T OVER BAKE...I think the pudding mix helps them set up, so if you over bake they are hard as a rock...yup, my 2nd batch was a bit over done.  Otherwise, they are DIVINE!

AND how cute would these be if you used only certain colors of M&M's? Like if you had a certain color scheme going for a party? OR for a baby shower...using only pink or blue shades of M&M's....or for holidays, yes?!
To see the original recipe head over to Six Sister's Stuff!

And for more of my PINNED IT & DID IT posts...
PINNED IT & DID IT: CAPRESE BITES
PINNED IT & DID IT: GROWTH CHART RULER
PINNED IT & DID IT: VINEGAR & DAWN CLEANER

I challenge you to Pin it...and DO IT!! :)

Welcome, Rachel!
What does this mean for you guys?!
More exposure!
Now, onto my feature picks this week!
Be sure to check out the other host’s features after leaving here:
Jamie @ Better with Age
Amber @ Dimples & Pig Tales
------------------------------------------
Here are my picks this week:
DIY Bottle Makeover @ Blissful Bee
coverphoto
What I love about this idea and this post from Blissful Bee is that she takes something and repurposes it...look around your house. Can you find beautiful things in your recycling bin? Can you look at things differently and see an alternative use for it in your home? This is beauty in simplicity. Love it.
Chalkboard and Burlap Silhouette Art @HOUSE OF HOFF
I love silhouettes. I love burlap. I love chalkpaint. And apparently so does April at House of Hoff. I never would of thought of this combo but it is lovely. Putting this on my 'to do' list for sure!
10 Minute Pillow Cover @ The Happy Housie
She had me at the faux bois yellow print...but check out this fantastic tutorial from Krista at the Happy Housie. She admits to her love of fabric and shares a "Super Crazy Easy Fast" way to swap out fabrics on pillows! Brilliant!
DIY Arrow Art @ Sealed with Lovely
I'd say it's safe to call ARROWS a current trend. This one that Jillian shared is an awesome low budget project that you could do to replace something chevron that you're sick of ;) I'm totally doing this, too! Probably in my son's new bathroom!

Splurge or Steal: Trellis Pillows

You be the judge: Splurge or Steal? Would you splurge on a high end pillow in order to have high quality fabric and presumed quality construction? Or would you go for the steal on this accent pillow- spending a small amount in case you wanted to trade out for next year's favorite color and pattern?!? Some times it comes down to exact color, exact pattern that will work in your space...other times a less expensive substitute is what makes a look do-able.
What do you think?

House Guests: Brooke Shields NYC Home

So, if you were a globally recognized model/actress + wife/mother, and you pretty much could furnish a home any way you could possibly want, how would you? What would your style be?
Brooke Shields' NYC Brownstone was featured in Architectural Digest last year. It is a fascinating mix of traditional and modern elements. I think I'd call it "sleek traditional". What do you think?

Give Me the Goods Monday Link Party #17!!!

Give Me the Goods Monday Link Party
Welcome to Give Me the Goods Monday!!!
Thanks to everyone who links up!
We are so excited to have you here with us this week!
In case you’re new here, this party is hosted by FOUR bloggers!
That means when you enter your links on one of our blogs, they will show up on FOURblogs total!
FOUR times the publicity for YOU!
We will each pick our favorites every week, so that’s FOUR times the chance for YOUto get featured!
Here are my goods from my own blog from the past week:

Artistic Inspiration #5: Erin Fitzhugh Gregory

Each Weekend I spotlight one of my favorite artists. You never know who will be our guest for the weekend! {For past Artistic Inspiration posts, follow these links: #1: Michelle Armas, #2: Lief Nielsen, #3: Charles Courtney Curran, #4: Sharon Montrose}

This week, I want to share the work of Erin Fitzhugh Gregory, a Georgia painter who captures color, light and shadow in her lovely still life and landscape paintings. Having lived in the South East for a few years, I have to say that I think the light and color in Erin's paintings captures the feel of Southern life and style. I'd love to hang one of her seascapes over a wicker love seat on a screened in back porch.  If I had a screened in back porch :) But I think her oil paintings would be at home in any setting. I'm a big fan of her bold use of color,  I think that is what draws me to her floral still life paintings.

To see more of Erin's artwork visit her studio page efgart.

Give Me the Goods Monday #16: Sunday Features!

Give Me the Goods Monday Features

It’s time for the features from last weeks GMTG party!
We are mixing things up a bit around here! Instead of doing a combined features post, each of the hosts is choosing 4 of their favorites and featuring on their blog!
What does this mean for you? More chances to be featured!! It means that all 4 of us will be selecting our favorite 4 features...so you have 16 chances to be featured. I'm really excited about this change for two BIG reasons: I ALWAYS have a tough time narrowing my picks down to only 2 favorites...I seem to always have 4 that I love...if not 40! The second reason why I love this reboot is because I now have the opportunity to share with you WHY I LOVE A FEATURE.  I won't just be selecting my favs, I'll be explaining why I love it and what I think about it.
So, be sure to check out the other host’s features after leaving here, because you may be on their features for the week!
Jamie @ Better with Age
