12 Days of Christmas Give Away #7: Stack of Books

Are you a book lover? Do you know someone who is? Then enter today!!!

Everywhere I've lived, I've always had a full book shelf (shelves).  In my small one room apartment in Philadelphia, to my house today, books are a part of me making my house a home.  I regard organizing the books as equivalent to hanging the curtains when I first move in to a new place.  You wouldn't believe how many of my books I took with us when we moved to Japan.  I get attached to my books.  I think having book shelves in a room really adds to the vibe of a place, too.  I've heard that so many people are buying e-readers and electronic books that major furniture design companies are changing the depth of their shelves in their bookshelves and calling them "display shelves" now in anticipation of books sort of being a thing of the past.  I guess I'm old fashioned like that, and think there is joy in turning a page.  I believe that there are some beautifully crafted books that are in themselves a piece of art, let alone the art of literature within them.  Even if you're not a book fanatic like me, a stack of books, or say, National Geographic, on a table, buffet or even sitting on the floor, provides an interesting decorating element to your home.  At Christmas I bring out the Christmas books...something the kids look forward to each year.

What are your interests? Where have you traveled? Is there a story that is meaningful to you? Did you have a favorite book that moved you? What do you like to read? Haul some out, stack 'um up, celebrate them out in the open.

Today, enter to win these three...your very own stack to use say, on an entry table, or under a lamp or vase to give it height, on top of a dresser or buffet, or on a side table...or here's a novel idea: stacked on a book shelf, after you read them, of course! They're great books! Or you could always use some as Christmas gifts...to me, the perfect gift to receive is a lovely book.

"Backwards in High Heels. The Impossible Art of Being Female", Tania Kindersley & Sarah Vine.
"Sense and Sensibility", Jane Austin.
"Love Poems", Pablo Neruda.

The Dashwood Sisters are waiting for you :)
