Wanderlust Week: Globe Give Away!!!

Vintage Cram Imperial Globe

Oh the Places You'll Go! I love incorporating vintage maps and globes into my spaces.
Our family game room has a collection of vintage globes... I love the ones that have bright colors, interesting bases and whether you can "date" the globe by certain clues: for example: this globe above has the Soviet Union still intact.
Enter to win this globe for your very own...drawing ends at 12am on 3/9, winner to be announced later that day.

    1. Glad you like the globe give away, Rebecca! I'm quirky like that. Gotta keep things fun! I loved the maps as wallpaper in that house. I think it is fun to see that even maps have their own style..you could use a brightly colored, retro map and have a completely different look than if you used a soft, blue, gray and white nautical map for the same project. It's all about style and taste. And that's what makes decorating so personal! Thanks for stopping by! XXXOOO!

    1. Hi Lynda!!!! Thanks for coming over to see the give away and becoming a new member!! So happy to have you here. A globe lamp would be fantastic. I've seen some where they basically cut the globe in half and make a sort of pendant out of it...is that what you were thinking? I'd love to hear about your idea!! Can't wait to see where this globe will be off to!
      Thanks again, XXXOOO!

  5. I remember loving the look of your maps in your kitchen. Brad and I have always wanted to frame maps of places we've been. We have a huge eyesore one in his 'office' (will be once he closes off the room). He's put a sticker over all of the places he's had hearings. Kind of cool, but it could look much better. Love the globe giveaway!

  6. The thing I love about vintage globes is
Showing my children how many changes happen
Even in today's world. I love showing them the Czech Republic changes especially because I have travelled there. What a lovely giveaway. Then again you entire blog is lovely!
    Cheers!

  7. P. S. When I think of a Globe Lamp it reminds me of the movie "While You were Sleeping" with Sandra Bullock. I love the opening scenes where she says her dad (who dies in the movie) gave her a globe lamp so he could give her the world. If I remember correctly it looked like they just cut a hole in the bottom and stuck a light inside.

    1. I LOVE THAT MOVIE! I may just have to cut open a hole in the bottom of one of my globes and attempt that...if it works, I'll put it up in a post ;) I think that is why I love globes...yes, colors, yes, travel, etc...but I think symbolically...there is something about realizing that the world can be yours. XXXOOO!
